The Center Stage Education Center offers classes for students in Pre-K through high school four days per week throughout the school year. Students can obtain a membership to take unlimited classes each session and receive busing to our programs if they are a Shelton public school student. We will finish out the Winter/Spring session with a showcase on Saturday, April 25th. Kids have fun at Center Stage while learning to become dynamic, confident performers! Students who enroll in our singing and vocal performance classes will work on the basics such as memorization and pitch with the goal of becoming confident soloists who are able to harmonize.
From Improv to Scene Study, our acting classes will have students focusing on voice and speech, character development, interpretation, projection, creative expression and more.
Take classes, such as ballet, tap, and jazz as well as musical theater dance and yoga classes for students. A dance assessment will take place for students who wish to be placed into the appropriate level as well as anyone who would like to register for our Level II classes.
Students in middle school and high school will learn important aspects of technical theater including lighting design, set design, costumes, wigs, props, stage management, and more!

Audition Techniques (Gr 5-8)
Whether you’re prepping for your first audition, looking to land your first featured role, or just want to continue strengthening your skills, Audition Techniques and teacher Michael Tartaglia will have you feeling confident every time you step into the audition room.
Disney Musical Magic (Gr 3-5)
Center Stage teachers Anthony and Michael Tartaglia not only have extensive experience on stage, but they’ve also worked at Walt Disney World! They can’t wait to share their love for Disney musicals with our students.
Intro To Costuming (Gr 5-12)
Center Stage is excited to welcome our costuming coordinator, Diane Chuba, to pass on her knowledge and skills to a new generation.
Little Performers (Pre-K & K)
Center Stage welcomes back elementary school teacher and long-time CS performer Lillian Trembley this fall to teach our young performers and give them an introduction to acting, singing, and dancing.
Magical Musicals (Gr 1-2)
Led by teacher Lillian Trembley, our first and second graders will learn and perform scenes and songs from magical musicals such as Aladdin and Frozen!
Musicals In Depth: Hadestown (Gr 7-12)
Led by Sandra Fernandes, this class focuses on the Tony award-winning Broadway hit that looks at deep issues of love, trust, and fear and featuring an emotionally charged soundtrack.
Musicals in Depth: Matilda (Gr 3-5)
Calling all revolting children! Chelsea Rodrigues will be teaching this heartwarming class about standing up for what you believe in and the true meaning of family.
Musicals In Depth: The Prom (Gr 7-12)
It’s time to build a prom for everyone in this upbeat class with Katie Sedlock about a show that focuses on acceptance and diversity.
Musicals in Depth: Shrek (Gr 3-6)
Students will love this Musicals In Depth class with Chelsea Rodrigues that will leave them singing, dancing and smiling.
Musicals In Depth: Spongebob Squarepants the musical (Gr 3-6)
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Sing and dance along to the fun-filled hit Broadway musical about the world's favorite sponge, Spongebob Squarepants! Taught by Anthony and Michael Tartaglia, students will have a Bikini Bottom day in this class!
Playwriting (Gr 7-12)
Led by our Artistic/Executive Director Marty Marchitto, Playwriting gives students the experience of creating characters, developing storylines, and collaborating with one another to write scenes and monologues.
Production Design (Gr 5-8)
Led by Sandra Fernandes, our Production design class will work on the technical aspects of the upcoming shows James & The Giant Peach, Clue, and The Internet Is Distracting.
Shakespeare Jr. (Gr 5-8)
If you’re interested in learning more about Shakespeare and his classic plays, there’s no better to learn from than Valley Shakespeare's Tom Simonetti.
Show Choir (Gr 3-8)
Improve your vocal technique and strengthen your harmony skills in Show Choir, taught by the classically trained Michelle Lambert, who is also appearing our upcoming production of Mamma Mia!
Teen Broadway Dance (Gr 7-12)
Push your dance skills forward with Center Stage and Shelton High School Drama Club choreographer Katie Sedlock, who will teach different styles from shows across a number of decades.
Vocal Technique for Singers (All ages)
Taught by voice teacher, Michelle Lambert, you will have a brief physical warm up, go over vocal therapeutic exercises, and vocal resonance exercises. Think about this class like taking your voice to the gym. At every class you will have a lesson of the day covering topics such as: physiology, posture, breath support, vocal registers and transitions, acoustical resonation, vocal therapeutic exercises, voice and resonance building exercises, and care and maintenance of the professional voice, and song performance. There will be time for questions and answers at the end of each class. This is a great class for singers at any level and for music directors.
